Captcha

A captcha is a frequently used means of distinguishing a human visitor to a website from a robot that has visited it, for example, to spam.

It is a Turing test that presents you with the task of correctly copying the characters shown. Only after you have typed them correctly will you then be able to submit a form or download files.
