Desktop application
A desktop application is a classic program that must be installed on the computer's hard disk - i.e. typical software.
Desktop programs are developed for specific operating systems (Windows, Linux, macOS) and their operation is not conditioned by an internet connection.
The disadvantage of desktop applications is separate development for each platform (OS). Unlike web applications, you pay for development for each operating system on which you want to make the software available.
